This blog moved to kiewic.com

Don’t panic! Wi-Fi/Wireless Adapaters are disabled by default in Windows Server 2012 R2. You don’t need to update, uninstall or reinstall your Wireless Adapter.

Just follow the following steps to enable wireless connections:

  1. Go to Server Manager.
  2. Click Manage in the upper right corner.
  3. Click Add Roles and Features.
  4. Click Next > Next > Next.
  5. At Server Selection select your server.
  6. Click Next > Next.
  7. At Features check Wireless LAN Services.
  8. Click Next > Install.
  9. Restart your server.
  10. Connect to your wireless network.

Wireless LAN Adapter

That’s all.

  1. Side note: if it still doesn’t work after restart, check services.msc and then ensure that “WLAN AutoConfig” is started.

  2. I tried to install Wireless LAN service and restart computer to finish installation but when the computer restart, it said ” couldn’t complete the updates, undoing changes…”
So Wireless LAN service still unavailable, please help me.
I’m sorry about my English skill.

      • HI Nguyen,
I’m having the same problem. I tried to install Wireless LAN service and restart computer to finish installation but when the computer restart, it said ” couldn’t complete the updates, undoing changes…” What did you do to fix this issue? Kindly share your inputs. Thanks.
